KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Another strong winter storm has hit the heartland in less than a week. But that didn't keep county officials from going to work.
A few Adair County offices including the Adair County Courthouse in Kirksville remained open Tuesday.
County officials wanted to make sure everything during the storm was going smooth. Especially to help those who were stuck and needed assistance.
Snow removal on county roads and bridges was halted for much of the day due to blowing snow but are working now to get the roads cleared again.
"Sometimes they run through the night. They will be out there tomorrow as well. We have a very good road superintendent who will take care of the county roads the best they can," said Adair County Commissioner Carson Adams.
County officials are asking residents to be patient, and that all the roads and bridges will be cleared as soon as possible.
Roads near those with medical needs will be cleared first for first responded to get to them if they need help.
