MACON, MO. -- An attempted shoplifting at a Macon convenience store ends with four people in custody facing meth charges.

Charged are Chad Bouma, 27, Brandon Grimes, 17, both of Novelty, and Richard Ewart, 27, of Kirksville. All three are charged with manufacturing meth, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child. All three are being held in the Macon County jail under $150,000 cash only bond each.

Also charged is Justin Lamb, 35, of Kirksville. He is charged with manufacturing meth, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child. Lamb is also charged with resisting arrest along with misdemeanor charges. He is being held in the Macon County jail under $150,000 cash only bond.

Macon police say Lamb had attempted to shoplift from the Casey's store when he fled the scene, leaving the other three and the vehicle at the store. Lamb was located by officers near the Long Branch YMCA in Macon, where he was taken into custody.

During the investigation, police found a possible meth lab in the vehicle near the gas pumps. Macon police called the North Missouri Drug Task Force and the Macon Fire Department to safely dismantle the lab.

The four, along with two juveniles, were taken into custody. The juveniles were turned over to the Macon Juvenile Office.
