MOBERLY, MO. -- A northern Missouri man is headed to prison for his part in a brutal kidnapping and assault.

A Randolph county jury convicted Sean Williams of Moberly on charges of being an accessory to kidnapping, first-degree assault, forcible sodomy and forcible rape in connection with a disturbing crime in which a woman was kidnapped, and held in a freezer between assaults.

According to court documents, the crime happened last year when Williams helped kidnap a 22-year-old victim at a Moberly hotel and took her to an abandoned basement.

Prosecutors say the woman was beaten, locked in an old deep freezer and raped.

The victim eventually escaped. Three other co-defendants have pleaded guilty to various charges.

Williams is set to be sentenced May 3rd.
