Fire crews respond to house fire

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The fire department was called to a home in the 700 block of West Patterson St. around 8 o'clock Friday evening.

There were at least three fire trucks on the scene and several other emergency response personnel.
  
We're told the occupant did escape from the home.

Our reporter on the scene said smoke was coming from the roof, but no flames were visible.

Saturday, fire crews tell us the cause seem to be electrical in nature. They say the fire started in the attic of the home, and crews used only 5 gallons of water to put out the blaze.

The estimated damage to the home has not been determined
