Victim begged for her life, says witness

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A domestic incident involving a knife has landed one person in jail.

James Khon, 32, of Kirksville, is charged with domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. He remains in the Adair County Jail under $100,000 cash only bond.

According to court papers, Khon is accused of punching the victim in the face, neck and head. Then grabbing a large butcher knife, with an eight inch blade, and then attacking the victim with a knife.

A neighbor told police they could hear the victim begging for her life during the incident.

The witness was able to grab the knife and hide it until police arrived. The victim was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.
