KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A northeast Missouri man who was furloughed to go to the doctor has had his bond amount doubled.

Vicente Soto, 25, of Kirksville is charged with two felonies and three misdemeanors after he allegedly led authorities on a high-speed chase through three counties in a stolen limo.

Soto, who was originally held on $25,000 cash only bond, has seen that bond go to $50,000 cash only.

Soto was released from the Macon County Jail last Friday so his mother could take him to the doctor.
His mother called the Macon County Sheriff's office later that day and said she had "lost" her son.

Soto, who vanished last Friday, was taken back in to custody the next day after authorities received a tip about someone walking along the railroad tracks near Elmer.

It turns out it was Soto.

Soto waived his preliminary hearing Thursday in Macon County Associate Court, and his case was moved to circuit court.

Soto's next court appearance is set for Feb.13.
