JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has appointed Mary S. Enyeart, of Brookfield, as the new circuit clerk for Linn County. The position became vacant upon the resignation of former circuit clerk E. Elaine Clough.

Enyeart, a Democrat, has served as a legal assistant in Linn County for more than 36 years, and has been with the firm of Chapman, Cowherd, Turner and Tschannen since 1991. She has served as president and secretary of the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce and as a board member of the Brookfield Parks and Recreation Department. She is a native of Linn County who attended Northeast Missouri, now Truman State University.

“The position of circuit clerk is one of great responsibility for the efficient administration of our circuit courts,” Gov. Nixon said. “Mary Enyeart brings a great deal of experience from her work in legal offices to this position, and I am confident she will capably serve the people of Linn County.”
