OTTUMWA, IOWA -- For those who are on a budget this New Years, it is still possible not to spend a lot of money on alcohol but still keep the taste.

Experts at Hy-Vee told us which type of tequila and champagne you can get the most bang for your buck.

For tequila, it is Jose Cuervo.

“It’s not always just spending about the brand. What it is is the taste; that's what it is. Each tequila will be different but at the same time, you really don't have to spend $30, $40, $50 on a bottle that’s going to almost the same, where you can get it pretty cheap and it's a well known brand,” said David Alfaro, Hy-Vee.

And for champagne, Korbel is suggested.

“Probably go with the Korbel. You have extra dry or brute. Brute can be sweeter obviously and its $10.99 right now which is a pretty good deal on that. And if you don’t want to go dirt cheap but have something good to celebrate with, Korbel is what you're going for,” said Colin McNerney, Hy-Vee.

And as always, do not drink and drive and always have a designated driver.
