ELDON, IOWA -- Many people want to know what they can do to help the community and people of Newtown, Connecticut.

Well, one heartland woman is doing just that!

Beth Howard, of Eldon, Iowa is the author of "Making Piece: A Memoir of Love, Loss and Pie."

After learning about the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Howard loaded up her RV to head east.

Inside her RV, carrying her to Newtown, Connecticut, Howard has supplies to make pies and give them away.

You can help donate money for gas, pie ingredients or if you can volunteer to help bake or hand out slices of pie Howard ask that you email her.

Her email address is beth@theworldneedsmorepie.com

KTVO spoke with Howard Sunday, and she said she is very busy making pie dough in New Jersey, and she will be taking the pies to Newtown on Tuesday.
