KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A building that was two years in the planning is now complete.

The Northeast Missouri Health Council has three different clinics under one facility. The new building is bigger and has expanded it services.

KTVO spoke with Northeast Missouri Health Council Executive Director, Andy Grimm. Grimm said the new facility has a lot to offer.

"We've added a new pediatrician, a new OB/GYN and also a new dental practitioner," said Grimm. "So obviously we have more services, more capacity to get folks in sooner, but also some of the newer services that we're able to offer in the clinic.

Grimm tells us the new facility allows people to get advanced services in the Kirksville area without having to got to a hospital or to areas like Columbia to get services.

Grimm said, it's a much better experience for the patients to have things done in a clinical setting than it is to go through an admission process at the hospital.

The new medical facility has added more doctors and specialists to its staff.

"We actually have nine practitioners in this clinic. We have three OB/GYNs, three pediatricians, and three dental providers now," said Grimm. "So it's a pretty big volume in one building and we expect at some point to be somewhere around 30,000 medical and dental encounters, in a year out of the facility."

The Northeast Pediatrics, OB/GYN Specialty Group and Northeast Dental make up the new Northeast Missouri Health Council.

Northeast Pediatrics and the OB/GYN specialty groups were both operated in the Gutensohn building owned by A.T. Still University.

The construction on the building took about eleven months to complete

An open house at the new facility located at 402 W. Jefferson will be held Tuesday, December 11 from 5:30p.m.-7:00 p.m.
