Kirksville teen's sentencing delayed

KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The sentencing hearing for a Kirksville teen has been delayed.

Trey Smith, 19, had entered a guilty plea to one count of deviate sexual assault.

He could receive up to seven years in prison.

The prosecution is asking for five years, while the defense is asking for probation.

Smith's sentencing has been rescheduled for December 18.

Smith admitted in his plea, that he made unwanted sexual advances toward a female under the age of 17.
