JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Nicole Gloor scored 14 of her game high 18 points in the second half as Truman blitzed the Lincoln Blue Tigers with a 19-3 run midway through the period to win 70-59 on the road Saturday afternoon.
Truman led wire-to-wire but the Blue Tigers trailed by just one at 41-40 with 11:23 left in the game. Nicole Gloor would spark the run with six straight points and Allie Norton pushed the margin to double-figures with her only three-pointer of the afternoon at the 8:30 mark.
The Bulldogs also used the free throw line to keep the Blue Tigers at bay. Truman was 24-of-30 (80%) from the stripe with Becka McHenry going a perfect seven of seven and Gloor making six of eight.
McHenry added 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists as Truman won their 19th regular season game to match the school record for regular season wins with the 1998-99 team and tied the 1999-2000 team for most conference wins at 12.
Freddie Sims paced the Blue Tigers with 20 points on four of six three-point attempts.
Truman will have match up with the University of Central Missouri on Wednesday night in Warrensburg. The Jennies are ranked in the top 10 with just two losses this season, the last coming against the Bulldogs in Pershing Arena by a 73-64 score.
