Bulldogs Get Back On The Track

AMES, Iowa – The Truman Track & Field teams competed at the Iowa State Open this weekend in Ames.

Rachel McCarroll improved on her NCAA provisional mark in the weight throw while Matt Schaefer ran 1:53.74 in the 800 to also gain a provisional time.
 
McCarroll had a weight throw of 58-03.75 to take second place in the event while was also a new personal best.
 
Karen Grauel was third and the top collegiate runner in the seeded 5000 meter run with a time of 17:55.84.
 
Emma Burditt won the unseeded 3000 meter run in a time of 11:13.32 while Katie Hirsch took 13th in the seeded version of the event with a personal best time of 10:44.45.
 
Schaefer took second in the 800 as he shaved three seconds off his personal best time on the fast Iowa State indoor track with his 1:53.74 time.
 
Ryan Peterson was 10th in the 400 crossing in 49.66 and 40th in the crowded field of the 200 meter run.
 
Brad Hart was 11th in the non-seeded 5000 with a personal best 15:46.61.
 
The Bulldogs will compete at the Jayhawk Classic next Friday in Lawrence, Kan.
