RANDOLPH COUNTY, MO. -- A Moberly, Mo. woman charged with the death of her baby has pleaded guilty.
Cassidy King, 26, appeared in Randolph County Circuit Court Tuesday morning and entered a guilty plea to felony manslaughter in the death of her child. She also pleaded guilty to a couple of previous drug charges.
Randolph County Prosecutor Mike Fussellman told GoodRadio News that he understands the body of the baby is still being preserved in the case of an appeal.
According to court records, the felony complaint alleged that King "knowingly caused the death of B.K. by injuring him and or throwing him into a pond in a weighted dufflebag." The pond is in the 1600 block of Route H near Higbee.
Fusselman says the medical examiner's report indicates the male child was born, alive.
