A goal in the 20th minute served as the difference maker on Thursday evening, as the Truman women’s soccer team fell 1-0 at No. 12 Central Missouri on a chilly night in Warrensburg.
UCM’s Kayla Shain finished a Kelsie Hanson cross with 25:58 to play in the opening half, and the two teams battled to a stalemate during the final 70 minutes of action as the 12th-ranked Jennies earned a split in the season series following Truman’s 1-0 win in Kirksville earlier this season.
The Bulldogs, however, have now lost three straight, falling to 11-5-1 overall and 7-4 in the MIAA on the season.
Alexis Heffernan led the Bulldogs off the bench with three shots, two coming on net, as Truman and UCM fought to an 8-6 final shot count. Bulldog keeper Emily Bozdeck made five saves in net.
The Bulldogs close out the regular season on Saturday at noon when they travel to Bolivar for a match with Southwest Baptist.
