For the second straight weekend, the Truman volleyball team took a top-10 foe to five sets; however, the 8th-ranked Central Missouri Jennies bounced back from a 2-1 hole to defeat the Bulldogs 3-2 on Saturday night.
It was an offensive display for both teams, as UCM (10-3, 4-0 MIAA) hit .265 for the match while Truman (9-4, 3-2 MIAA) came in at a .236 mark.
The Bulldogs put forth one of the most balanced efforts of the season, with four separate players finishing with 13 kills apiece.
Both teams sided-out at a high mark, with UCM at 64% and Truman at 61%, but the difference came in the fourth and fifth for the Jennies when they combined to hit .280 and side-out at a 77% clip compared to the Bulldogs at .210 offensively and 67% side-out.
Aubri Renshaw led the Jennies with 17 kills.
The Bulldogs return to Pershing Arena for three matches next week, starting on Tuesday (Sept. 25) night at 7:00 pm against GLVC-member Quincy (Ill.).
