Truman State tennis signs three

Women’s Tennis Coach Pete Kendall has announced the signing of three student-athletes for the 2012-13 roster.
Holly Cantalupo from Austin, Texas, Savannah Everett from Colubmia, Mo. and Hannah Runez from Whitewater, Wisc. will play for Truman State University next fall.
Cantalupo was a three-year letter winner and varsity team captain her senior season.
She was a district doubles champion her sophomore year and as a member of the CATA, a junior tour winner in the 16-year old level and competes in the championship level in the 18-year olds.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. Holly has a sister Leanne who competed in her first season on the University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s tennis team.
Everett was part of a state championship team in both her senior and junior seasons.
Everett placed seventh in the individual state tournament as a junior and third in the doubles tournament as a senior.
She is a four-year letter winner in tennis and also played soccer for three seasons. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-Theta, a senior girls’ service organization and the Art Honors Association.
Runez (played the top singles position for three seasons and qualified for the Wisconsin Division 2 State Tennis Tournament in both 2010 and 2011 where she placed in the top 16.
She helped Whitewater to their first conference title in 26 years in 2011 by placing second at number one singles.
Runez is second in career wins at Whitewater with 69 and represented the state in the 2011 Jr USTA Midwest Championships in the girls 16 year-old division.
Runez is a two-time all-state selection and was the 2012 class valedictorian by being a member of the National Honor Society, Student Government and Spanish Club.
