Junior Megan Sharpe’s second straight first-team selection highlighted five Truman volleyball listings on the 2011 all-MIAA teams, announced Thursday by the league office.
Abby Moser, Kylie Easlon, Emily Briseno and Allie Brak also were recognized by MIAA coaches.
Sharpe made it three all-MIAA selections in as many seasons, returning the first-team for the second straight year after leading the Bulldogs in kills (389), kills per set (3.02), blocks (141), blocks per set (1.09) and hitting percentage (.351) in 2011.
Freshman Abby Moser inked her name throughout Truman’s single-season digs charts and was rewarded with a second-team all-MIAA selection. The Wildwood, Mo.-native tallied a program single-season best 699 digs (5.34 per set) and posted 19 matches with 20 or more digs in 2011.
Senior Kylie Easlon, junior Emily Briseno and freshman Allie Brak were each named to the MIAA’s Honorable Mention squads for the first time in their careers.
Easlon played in all 134 sets on the season and averaged 5.62 assists and 2.10 digs per set as part of Truman’s 6-2 setting system.
She also led the team and was among MIAA leaders in service aces with 46.
Briseno ranked second on the squad in hitting percentage at .290 and averaged 1.99 kills and 0.86 blocks per set.
She had seven matches with ten or more kills, including a career-high 14 against Emporia State on Sept. 17.
Brak played in 32 of the team’s 34 matches during the year and ranked second on the squad both in kills per set (2.66) and digs per set (3.19).
She served 27 aces and posted 14 kill-dig double-doubles, including four in her final five matches.
