Edina native Terry Joyce, a Missouri Southern State graduate and former St. Louis Cardinals punter and backup tight end during the 1976 and 1977 NFL season passed away Friday night. Joyce lost his battle with brain cancer.

Joyce had 86 punts in the NFL and averaged 37 yards a punt. His longest was 58 yards.

Joyce was the father of the late professional offensive lineman, Brandon Joyce who died on December 28, 2010, following a shooting on December 24.

Terry Joyce was 56 at the time of his death.
