(AP) -- Two Tour de France riders have been
slightly injured in what an official suspects was an air-rifle
shooting.
Organizers that Julian Dean of New Zealand and Oscar
Freire of Spain were struck along the road in northeast France
during the 13th stage.
It's not certain what weapon was used, but Dean's Garmin
Slipstream team thinks it was an air rifle. Team spokeswoman Marya
Pongrace says Dean's right index finger was injured. He was shaken
up but is expected to ride Saturday.
Details concerning Freire were not immediately available. Police
are investigating.
