The World Series starts Wednesday night

(AP) -- Game 1 of the World Series between the Giants and Detroit Tigers is scheduled for tonight in San Francisco.

The home team is appearing in the Fall Classic for the second time in three years.

The Giants beat Texas in five games two years ago.
