Iowa State and Northern Iowa have announced plans to face each other in football seven times over the next 11 seasons.
(AP) --
The Cyclones will host all seven contests, which will be held next season and in 2015-17, 2019, 2021 and 2023.

Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard says the school is excited to extend its scheduling deal with the FCS Panthers because some of the best crowds in school history have come against their instate rivals.

The Cyclones lead the series against Northern Iowa 20-4-3. But the Panthers have proven to be a tough opponent for both Iowa and Iowa State in recent seasons.

Iowa State snuck past Northern Iowa 20-19 in 2011, and Iowa held off the Panthers 27-16 last weekend in Iowa City.
