(AP) -- Iowa center Bethany Doolittle has been arrested and charged with public intoxication and providing false information to the police.
Iowa City police say the 18-year-old Doolittle was kissing a man on a sidewalk Saturday night when an officer asked Doolittle for her identification.
A police complaint says Doolittle claimed she didn't have her ID and instead gave police a fake name.
Doolittle eventually acknowledged giving police a false name because she was scared.
Police say Doolittle's blood-alcohol content was 0.155.
Doolittle posted $600 bond and has pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Online court records don't list an attorney for Doolittle.
An e-mail message from The Associated Press seeking comment from Hawkeyes coach Lisa Bluder wasn't immediately returned.
Doolittle averaged 3.7 points a game as a freshman last season.
