(AP) -- There's a steep learning curve for rookies entering the NFL.

Dontari Poe and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs' draft picks are learning that in a hurry.

Poe said after practice Tuesday morning that the biggest difference from college football is the mental side of the game.

There's more to learn in general, and what is learned has been far more intricate, making the first couple weeks of practice an all-out cram session.

At least he's had the chance to get on the field and put it to use.

Second-round pick Jeff Allen, fifth-round selection De'Quan Menzie and sixth-round choice Cyrus Gray all missed the contact portion of practice on Tuesday.

Allen is out with a hurt left ankle. Gray and Menzie have hamstring injuries.
