LAPLATA, MISSOURI -- The Schuyler County baseball team has advanced to quarterfinal play in the state playoffs following a win last night over Monroe City 3-1.
It was a pitchers duel for the first seven innings, as Schuyler County’s Jordan Wheeler and Monroe City’s Kyle Fulton didn't allow a run through seven innings.
In the 8th inning the first two Schuyler batters walked and they would come in on a sacrifice fly by
Tad Anderson to deep center field. Sawyer Tarr tags up from third to score a run another would score when the ball goes into the dugout on the throw to third.
Schuyler County wins it 3 to 1, they will now play South Callaway on Wednesday, again at the LaPlata field, gametime 6:00.
