The Truman women’s tennis team picked up their first conference win in a 9-0 victory over the Lincoln University (Mo.) Blue Tigers on Tuesday.

The team will be on the road tomorrow at Quincy University for the spring rematch with the Lady Hawks.

The dual lasted just over an hour and a half as Truman swept all nine matches for the win.

Ellen Russell and Dagmar Velez won 8-3 at number one doubles, Kim Birenbaum and Maggi Schutte were 8-1 victors at number two and Kelsey Porter and Jessica Gennuso won 8-2 at number three.

All six singles matches were decided in straight sets with Birenbaum, Schutte, Jennifer Hawkins and Kati Austin all shutting out their Blue Tiger opponent.

The Bulldogs move to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the MIAA while Lincoln drops to 0-10 and 0-8 in the league.

Truman will look for the season sweep of the Lady Hawks tomorrow as the Bulldogs dealt Quincy a 6-3 loss in Kirksville back in October.
