The Truman golf team dropped three spots to ninth but put two players in the top-25 of a 104-player and 18-team field at the Washington (Mo.) University Invitational, held at Gateway National Golf Club.
Senior Liz Lestermann turned in a team-best 75 on day two to finish T-16 in the event with a two-day 158.
Junior Jessica Tomash finished tied for 23rd after shooting an 88 on day two (160 two-day total), with senior Jessica Schepker (T-52; 85-83, 168), junior Lynn Dreisilker (T-71; 84-89, 173) and freshman Riley Kelter (T-76; 94-80, 174) rounding out the five-player team.
The Bulldogs finished just five strokes out of fifth place, showcasing how tight the event was, as William Woods took home the team title at 611.
Truman heads to Waterloo, Iowa, next Friday and Saturday (April 6-7) for the Upper Iowa University Invitational at Sunnyside Country Club.
