Backed by senior Jessica Schepker’s third top-20 finish of the 2011-2012 season, the Truman golf team jumped two places on the final day of the Missouri Western Invitational, shooting a 351 to finish sixth in the 10-team field.
Schepker turned in an 86 to finish in a tie for 16th with a two-day total of 176.
The team’s low round of the day came off the clubs of freshman Riley Keltner who cut 13 strokes off her day one round to shoot an 85 on Monday and finish in 30th place for the tournament.
SeniorLiz Lestmann finished with a 186 after a day two 91, junior Lynn Dreisilker fired an 89 for a two-day total of 188, and junior Jessica Tomash recorded a 97 on Monday for a two-day 189.
Freshman Courtney Cisler shot a 93 on day two, competing as an individual.
The University of Central Oklahoma captured the team title, winning by 42 strokes, while UCO's Chaney Uhles earned medalist honors with a two-day score of 155 (78-77).
Truman will travel to Washington (Mo.) University this Saturday and Sunday (March 31-April 1) for its second tournament of the spring.
