Missouri will host Kansas Saturday at 8 p.m. Saturday's matchup restores one of college basketball's best rivalries as this will mark the 266th meeting between the programs, dating back to 1907.
KU owns a 171-94 lead in the all-time series and has won the last five meetings.
The last Tiger win came in 2009 when Zaire Taylor hit a game-winning shot to give the Tigers a 62-60 win over the Jayhawks in Columbia.
This meeting between the Tigers and Jayhawks will take on extra meaning as first place in the Big 12 is on the line.
The Tigers come into the game at 7-2 in league play while KU sits at 8-1.
Mizzou and Kansas have not met with first place in the league on the line since the 2009 season when the two teams met at Allen Fieldhouse on March 1, where KU earned a 90-65 win.
In all, Mizzou and Kansas have met in 142 games that were decided by single digits and 85 that were decided by five points or less.
Mizzou is 60-82 in games decided by 10 or less and 39-46 in games decided by five points or less.
In all, this will mark the 14th MU-KU game in which both teams rank among the top 10 and Kansas holds a 9-5 advantage in those games.
Of course, Mizzou and Kansas met twice as top-five foes in 1989-90 with Mizzou claiming wins on both games. First, the Tigers won, 95-87, in Columbia and then 77-71 in Lawrence.
