Carter leads No. 5 Aggies over Iowa, 74-58

(AP) - Sydney Carter scored 21 points to lead No. 5 Texas A&M to a 74-58 victory over Iowa on Saturday, giving the Aggies the Lucaya Division crown of the Junkanoo Jam tournament.

Carter hit 6 of 16 shots and 9 of 10 free throws, earning the Lucaya Division MVP.

Adaora Elonu added 13 points for the Aggies (6-0), and Kelsey Bone scored 12 points, 10 in the second half.

Samantha Logic scored 16 points for Iowa (4-2), and Jaime Printy had 14.

Next up for the defending national champion Aggies is No. 15 Purdue on Dec. 4, followed by a game at No. 2 Connecticut on Dec. 6.

Iowa hosts Virginia Tech on Wednesday.
