Several Ottumwa varsity athletes have been selected for conference teams.

Varsity football players selected for the 2011 Metro All Conference First Team include seniors Ben Kramer (quarterback), Kurtis Miller (tightend) and Nick Duree (tackle). On the defensive side, senior Adam Van Fleet (back) was also selected to the First Team.

Second team selections include Seth Griffiths (running back), R.J. Bailey (guard), and Ronald Forney (end). Griffiths is a junior at OHS. Bailey and Forney are seniors. Players Zach Messer, senior; and Alex Maas, Kyle Keck, and Jonah Wright, juniors, received honorable mention.

In volleyball, seniors Peyon Crosser (middle hitter) and Ashley Salgado (libero) were selected to the 2011 CIML Metro Conference Volleyball First Team. Juniors Katie Sammons (middle hitter), Beth Overturf (setter) and senior Ashley Short (outside hitter) were named to the Second Team. Senior Avery Roane received an honorable mention.
