The Truman men’s basketball team will be looking to prove the pollsters wrong as the MIAA Coaches and Media polls had the Bulldogs 10th.
New Head Coach Matt Woodley will have eight new faces on the 2011-2012 squad as the team will take their shots against three Division I schools during the exhibition season.
The Bulldogs garnered 20 points in the coaches’ poll to finish above Lincoln in the survey.
Nationally ranked Missouri Southern (fourth) received seven of the 11 first-place votes for 97 points followed by the University of Central Missouri who grabbed the other four first-place nods and 92 points.
Truman grabbed 26 points in the media poll while Southern and UCM were also in the top two.
The new look Bulldogs will kick things off on Thursday night with an exhibition game against Missouri State University in Springfield, then travel to Columbia for a game against Frank Haith and the University of Missouri on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd.
The Bulldogs will wrap up their three game exhibition string with a trip to Indiana State University on Saturday, Nov. 5th.
Truman will open the season at the Abilene Christian Wildcat Classic on Nov. 11-12 before playing in front of the home crowd for the first time on Nov. 15th against Central Christian College (Mo.).
