After 75 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Truman women's soccer team scored late to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 conference victory against the Fort Hays State Tigers on Saturday afternoon.

In the 76th minute of the match, junior midfielder Kelsey Twellman connected with the back of the net from 18 yards out to tally up her third goal of the season. Her goal was unassisted.

The Bulldogs (4-4-2, 2-0 MIAA) had total offensive control for the entirety of the game, producing 12 shots, including seven in the second half.

The Truman defense held the Tigers (3-5-1) to only one shot in 90 minutes of action. The defense also held Fort Hays to zero corner kicks to the Bulldogs' four.

Senior Jayne Grisham earned her first shutout of the 2011 season and 18th in her career.

The Bulldogs will travel back to Kirksville for a conference match-up against Missouri Western State University on October 4th.
