(AP) - Iowa's Micah Hyde is widely considered one of the Big Ten's best cornerbacks.

The Hawkeyes are hoping Hyde can be an even better safety.

Iowa has had to do a lot of reshuffling this offseason, with only five starters back from a defense that ranked seventh in the country last season with just 17 points allowed per game.

The Hawkeyes have strongly toyed with the idea of moving Hyde to free safety to replace Brett Greenwood, working him in as the starter during fall camp.

Hyde, whose 72-yard interception return against Missouri in the fourth quarter of the Insight Bowl gave Iowa a 27-24 win, says he's growing accustomed to his new role.
