(AP) - If history repeats itself, Matt Cassel will reach an even higher level of excellence this year.
That seems to happen to just about every quarterback who comes under the tutelage of Jim Zorn, Kansas City's new quarterback coach.
Almost within hours of Zorn's release last January by the Baltimore Ravens, Todd Haley was on the phone asking if he would be interested in joining the Chiefs.
Now he's working with Cassel and two would-be backups in the broiling heat of training camp in St. Joseph, Mo. Zorn is doing unorthodox things like having right-handed passers drop back as left-handers.
He says the main thing is efficiency and quickness because not even the greatest offensive line can always block everybody.
