(AP) --  The NCAA is considering pushing the women's 3-point line one foot farther out and changing the way charges are called in the men's game.

The recommendations were announced Wednesday on the NCAA's website.

The women's rules committee is recommending moving the 3-point line back one foot to 20 feet, 9 inches, beginning next season.

That is the same distance the men have used since the 2008-09 season.

On the men's side, the rules committee recommended a restricted area arc three feet from the center of basket where a secondary defender cannot legally take a charge.

The arc would be marked in the lane and the change would take effect next season if approved.
