Smith leads No. 11 Purdue past Iowa

WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. (AP) -- Ryne Smith scored 18 points Sunday to help No. 11 Purdue beat Iowa 75-52, the Boilermakers' 10th straight win.

Smith made a career-high six 3-pointers, surpassing his record of five set twice in the previous three games.

JaJuan Johnson had 16 points and four blocks and E'Twaun Moore and Kelsey Barlow each added 11 points for the Boilermakers (15-1, 4-0 Big Ten). Purdue shot 49 percent from the field and outrebounded the Hawkeyes 36-29. The Boilermakers won easily even though its top two players, Johnson and Moore, shot a combined 12 for 32 from the field.

The Boilermakers held Iowa to 37 percent shooting and forced the Hawkeyes into 16 turnovers.

Matt Gatens had 13 points to lead the Hawkeyes (7-8, 0-3).
