Saint Louis beats Northeastern 71-49 in Cancun

CANCUN, MEXICO (AP) -- Jordair Jett led four Saint Louis players in double figures with 13 points in a 71-49 win over Northeastern on Wednesday in the Cancun Governor's Cup.

Paul Eckerle scored 11 points, while Dwayne Evans and Brian Conklin each chipped in 10 for the Bilikens (5-5).

Saint Louis scored 25 points off 17 turnovers in its largest victory since a 78-50 point win over Tennessee State on Nov. 23.

The Huskies (2-6) tied the game at 15-15 on Joel Smith's 3-pointer with 15:56 left in the first half. But the Bilikens responded with seven-straight points. Eckerle's free throw put Saint Louis up 22-17 with 1:47 left in the first half.

Saint Louis opened the second half on a 10-2 run and led by as many as 24 points twice. The Bilikens shot 65.5 percent from the field after halftime (19 of 29).

Alex Harris had 11 points for the Huskies.
