(AP) -- Thanks to Oakland, Kansas City's game this week at San Diego seems much less important.
The Chiefs' rather homely and mistake-filled 10-6 victory over Denver on Sunday coupled with the Raiders' 28-13 victory in San Diego has given KC a two-game lead in the AFC West with four to play. If the Chiefs can win in San Diego on Sunday, they would come very close to clinching their first AFC West title since 2003.
Coach Todd Haley agreed the win over Denver was made more difficult by the Chiefs' own mistakes. They were penalized eight times for 60 yards, almost twice as much as the Broncos. But Haley says the fact they still kept their poise and found a way to win illustrates how the team has grown.
