AMES, IOWA (AP) -- Melvin Ejim scored 19 points and four teammates also reached double figures, carrying Iowa State to an 81-59 victory over Montana State on Saturday.

Diante Garrett added 17 points and Scott Christopherson 16 for the Cyclones (6-0), who saw their string of 91-point games end at three but still had more than enough firepower to snap Montana State's five-game winning streak.

Bobby Howard led the Bobcats (5-2) with 13 points and Erik Rush scored 12.

Montana State led by six midway through the first half and trailed just 39-33 after Howard's basket early in the second half.

But Iowa State went a 16-2 run that included a 3-pointer, a driving layup and an assist by Garrett to open a 55-35 lead, and controlled the game from then on.
