(AP) -- Mike McCall scored 15 points Tuesday night to help Saint Louis defeat Tennessee State 78-50. Cody Ellis had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Billikens (2-2). Jordair Jett also had 11 points for the winners.
The final score was the largest margin of the game. The Billikens, who made 61.5 percent of their shot attempts in the second half, broke away from a 38-38 tie with an 8-0 run early in the second half, and after the Tigers got it back to 48-42, Saint Louis scored the next 15 points.
Robert Covington had 21 points and seven rebounds for Tennessee State (1-4). Kenny Moore added 11 points and also had seven rebounds for the Tigers.
The Billikens made 9 of 16 from 3-point range in the contest, with Ellis and Paul Eckerle connecting three times.
