Truman women’s soccer junior Megan Buri became the University’s 94th student-athlete to be named an Academic all-American and first women’s soccer player since 2005, as she was recognized on the ESPN Academic All-America second-team. The announcement was released on Friday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

A 4.00 Biology major, Buri led the Bulldogs in 2010 with seven goals – including two in the team’s NCAA first-round match against Midwestern (Texas) State – and one assist.

She was also named first-team all-MIAA for the second time in her career, as Truman finished the season 11-4-5 and reached the NCAA tournament’s second round for the second consecutive season.

She was the only MIAA player to receive Academic all-American status this season.
