LIBERTY, MO. -- Despite outshooting the William Jewell Cardinals, 8-7, on the day, the Truman men’s soccer team couldn’t find the net and fell 3-0 to WJC in Sunday afternoon action.

WJC got on the board in the 34th minute, then added a pair of insurance goals by Troy Green just after halftime to hand Truman its first loss of 2010. The Bulldogs’ mustered just three of its eight total shots on goal.

The Bulldogs took five corner kicks to two for the Cardinals, but Kyle Heiman pitched a shutout in net for WJC, while sophomore Tyler Knierim made one save.

Truman will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 10 when it hosts current-No. 1 and defending national champion Fort Lewis (Colo.) in a non-region match at Bulldog Pitch. Kickoff is set for 4 pm.
