(AP) -- Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard
says he believes Iowa State and the Big 12 will emerge from the
departure of Colorado and Nebraska stronger than ever.
Speaking at a news conference Tuesday, Pollard noted that an
expected increase in television revenue now would split among 10
schools, rather than 12.
Sitting beside Iowa State President Gregory Geoffroy, Pollard
acknowledged it was a relief that Texas and other influential
members of the Big 12 agreed to stick with the league. That
decision saved Iowa State and four other Big 12 schools most
vulnerable if the league fell apart - Kansas, Kansas State,
Missouri and Baylor - from being left without a home.
Pollard says he believes the Big 12 will come out of its recent
crisis more vibrant.
