(AP) -- Iowa State freshman guard Chris Colvin will transfer to another school after just one season with the Cyclones.
Iowa State coach Greg McDermott announced Colvin's plans Thursday, though no reason was given for his departure.
Colvin, a highly touted point guard from Chicago, averaged 3 points and 1.9 assists in 29 games. But he was also suspended in January for violating team rules.
Colvin is the third underclassman to leave Iowa State since the end of the season, joining center Justin Hamilton and guard Dominique Buckley.
The Cyclones return starting guards Diante Garrett and Scott Christopherson next season, along with reserve Charles Boozer, redshirt freshmen Antwon Oliver and Bubu Palo and junior college transfer DeMarcus Phillips.
