The Missouri Southern Lions completed the weekend sweep over the Truman Baseball squad by defeating the Bulldogs 10-0 in Joplin on Sunday. The Bulldogs will begin an eight-game home stand on Wednesday when they host Northern Kentucky at 12:00 p.m.
Truman stranded two runners in the top of the first before the Lions got three runs on just one hit. The Truman defense committed three errors in the inning and two runs coming on sac flys.
Missouri Southern picked up two more unearned runs in the second.
The Lions would add a pair in the fourth, one in the fifth and two more in the eight for the four-game sweep of the Bulldogs.
Sophomore Kevin Zukaitis went 1-for-2 to finish the weekend series by hitting .500. Zukaitis was 6-of-12 with a pair of RBIs and freshman Devon Meyers also hit .500 (4-for-8) while also collecting three RBIs.
Truman will host the Northern Kentucky Norse on Wednesday at noon before a four-game MIAA slate against Southwest Baptist on Friday and Saturday. The Bulldogs will then host Upper Iowa in a non-conference twinbill on Sunday to finish off spring break.
