The Royals get a win thanks to Getz

(AP) -- An RBI single off the bat of Chris Getz with two outs in the top of the ninth inning snapped a 2-2 tie and Kansas City held on for a 3-2 victory over the Tigers.

Detroit got a two-run home run from Brennan Boesch in the bottom of the eighth to tie it up.

Kansas City will host the Yankees in a four game series starting Thursday night.
