Back-to-back duals are on tap along with traditionally one of the toughest tournament of the season for the Truman Wrestling team this week.

The Bulldogs will host the University of Central Missouri on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in Pershing Arena in the second MIAA dual of the year they will follow up by stepping outside of conference for a home dual Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against Central Baptist (Ark.) College.

Truman will conclude the week at the Missouri Valley Open in Marshall, Mo. on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (4-1; 0-1 MIAA) went 1-1 last week in dual matches as they dropped their conference opener to Lindenwood 23-15 before bouncing back on Sunday to pin Benedictine (Kan.) 32-15.

Junior Colton Schmitz leads the Bulldogs with a 17-3 overall record and is 5-0 in dual matches this season.

Schmitz has won five matches by pinfall and his three losses have only come by narrow decisions.

Sophomore Helmut Rentschler is second with a 13-5 record at 197 and junior Ryan Maus is third with a 12-4 record.

Sophomore Nate Seiler has garnered the most pins this season for the Bulldogs with seven of his nine wins coming by fall.

After starting the season 3-0, the UCM Mules have lost six straight dual matches entering Wednesday night.

The Mules placed five wrestlers at their Roger Denker Open on Sunday with junior Tim Tuaquoi placing second in the 285-pound weight class.

Tuaquoi was the only UCM wrestler ranked in the Regional poll in early December as he checked in at number six.

Dual History:

This will be the 49th meeting between two original MIAA members on the mats.

Central leads the overall series that had dated back to the 1966-67 season by a 31-16-1 score.

The Bulldogs broke a six-game losing streak to the Mules last year in Pershing Arena with a 33-20 victory.
