(AP) -- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) tabbed Truman senior middle blocker Megan Sharpe as an honorable mention all-American on Monday morning.

With the announcement, Sharpe became Truman’s first four-time all-American in program history.
 
After picking up all-region accolades last week from Daktronics and honorable mention all-region recognition from the AVCA on Nov. 21, Sharpe (Edwardsville, Ill., Edwardsville) closed her career with an honorable mention all-America award.

 She averaged a career-best 3.12 kills and 1.26 blocks per set in 2012, while hitting .346 and serving 18 aces.
 
The senior closed her career seventh on Truman’s career charts in kills (1,444), first in hitting percentage (.344), 10th in total attempts (3,097), fourth in total blocks (504), fourth in blocks per set (1.02), sixth in solo blocks (93) and second in block assists (411).

In addition, she posted 77 career matches with double-figure kills and played in 135 matches (495 sets).
 
Sharpe was named an honorable mention all-American both in 2009 and 2012, a third-team all-American in 2010 and a second-team all-American in 2011.

She had previously sat alongside Sarah Shearman (2004-2006) and Allie Cherven (2006-2008) as the program’s only three-time all-Americans before Monday’s announcement elevated her to Truman’s top spot. In addition,

Sharpe earned national freshman of the year honors in 2009.
 
A two-sport athlete, Sharpe will transition to women’s basketball after averaging 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last year.
 
The Bulldog volleyball team closed 2012 with a 27-7 record after making its 13th postseason trip in program history.
