Iowa Wesleyan softball ends up four and four in Tucson

(AP) -- The  Iowa Wesleyan softball team completed their games at the Tucson Invitational.

The Tigers won the first game today, defeating Howard Payne University (TX) 3-1.
 
In the second game of the day, also against Howard Payne University, the Tigers fell 6-7.

Entering the 7th inning, IWC trailed 2-7. The Tigers then scored four runs in the inning and had runners on 1st and 2nd before grounding out for the last out of the game and just falling short of the comeback.
 
The softball team finished 4-4 at the Tucson Invitational, their best record there ever.

They'll now make the trip back home and host their first home game of the season on Thursday, March 14 vs. Hannibal-LaGrange University. The game is set to start at 2:00pm
